The RSP Kalimaya Channa is a sought-after locality form among Borneo-type dwarf snakeheads. It is known for warm red and orange tones over a darker body, with fin and flank markings that intensify as the fish matures. Its manageable size suits a dedicated species tank.

Like all channa, it is an air-breather and a skilled jumper, so a tight-fitting lid and a small air gap above the water are essential. It does best in soft, slightly acidic, blackwater-style water with driftwood, leaf litter and caves, which also bring out its best color.
